About User Defined States
User-defined states provide businesses with an enhanced workflow capability. With the ability to create an unlimited number of states for a document subtype, businesses can customize Proliance to match their workflow process.
Note:
- User defined states is a new feature introduced in Proliance 4.0. If you have an earlier version of Proliance, none of your existing states are affected. Previously created documents will continue to have the same workflow states and actions. If you choose to define additional states for a document subtype, only new documents will contain the new states.
- Due to various business rules, this capability is only available to specific document subtypes. For a complete list of document subtypes that have this capability, see "User Defined States - Document Limitations" in the Local Admin on-line Help.
Creating new and customizing workflow states can only be done from the Local Admin. For more information, see "Configuring Document Workflow States" in the Local Admin on-line Help.
